Job Preferences as Revealed by Employee Initiated Job Changes
Job Preferences as Revealed by Employee Initiated Job Changes Many previous studies try to discover job preferences by directly asking individuals. Since it is not sure, whether answers to these surveys are relevant for actual behaviour, this empirical examination offers a new approach based on representative German data. متن کاملRevealed Reversals of Preferences
We weaken the implicit assumption of rational choice theory that imposes that preferences do not depend on the choice set. We concentrate on the cases where the preferences change monotonically when the choice set expands. We show that rationalizability is then equivalent to state the usual strong axiom of revealed preferences to the binary relation of "revealed reversals of preferences".

متن کاملTax-benefit Revealed Social Preferences
This paper inverts the usual logic of applied optimal income taxation. It starts from the observed distribution of income before and after redistribution and corresponding marginal tax rates. Under a set of simplifying assumptions, it is then possible to recover the social welfare function that would make the observed marginal tax rate schedule optimal. In this framework, the issue of the optim...

In this paper we experimentally document the existence of incomplete preferences in decision making under uncertainty. In a series of incentivized decision tasks subjects have to choose between a risky and an ambiguous prospect. Active choices between prospects can as well be avoided by selecting a fair chance device that eventually assigns one of the two prospects to the decision maker. We obs...
